There are many people who smoke. Those people endanger themselves, and the people around them. We really can only preach about how dangerous smoking really is, and hope those people would change their minds about it. It is your choice to decide if you want to ruin your life with this "cancer stick" or not. Hopefully, I can change your mind about it. Mmmkay?

What is in a cigarette?

Smoking a cigarette is smoking hundreds of chemicals, that you are inhaling. One product in it is nicotine. "Nicotine reaches the brain within 10 seconds, after the smoke is inhaled. It has been found in every part of the body and in breast milk." according to Terry Martin. Nicotine is addictive, and that's the main reason why people do not quit. Cigarettes also contain sugar, and as you may know, sugar is also addictive. The chemicals people smoke gets into the atmosphere we breath. The most common side effect is lung cancer.

Effects of smoking

smoking.jpgAll of these cancer are possible when you smoke. Statistics say that if you are a lifetime smoker you will have a 50% percent chance of death, in your middle age. The chemicals inside of cigarettes (which are over 200) travel throughout your whole body. It is hard to quit smoking, because of the sugar and nicotine (stated above). You are at higher risk of cancer when you smoke everyday. If you where to stop, those health risks would vanish, or at least be lowered.

Second Hand Smoke

Second hand smoke is just as dangerous as first hand. Although it may not provide the same cancers, it is still equally as bad. People with asthma have a higher risk of attacks, when around a smoker. There is also ANOTHER form of smoke. When smoke gets stuck inside your clothes and stick there, it is called third hand smoke. But the main issue is second hand, because it has greater risks, and it effects people who don't smoke and don't want to smoke, so why should they have to deal with that? Cigarette smoke can linger in the air for hours. An estimated of 46,000 deaths have occurred from non smokers.

Conclusion

In conclusion, just don't smoke. It is not worth your health to try and be "cool". I'm sure you will be "cooler" not looking twice your age when you are 30 or 40. There are plenty ways to cure your addiction, if you are a smoker. Such as a nicotine patch, or a a electronic cigarette. It is very rare for someone to not get any health risk from being a lifetime case. The facts are out there, and the risks are great (In a large amount). Just think, when you smoke that cigarette, you are smoking ammonia (toilet cleaner), acetone (nail polish remover), arsenic (rat poison) and hydrogen cyanide (gas chamber poison). There are many more chemicals that are PROVEN to causes cancer, but the effects may not be immediate. DON'T SMOKE! Mmmkay?
